      Working of Rotary Evaporator:

      The rotating flask provides a thin vacuum over a vast surface area, perfect for rapid heat transfer.

      Fortunately, the thin coating ensures consistent heat dispersion while avoiding local heating. Operating the unit under full vacuum further facilitates evaporation at as low a temperature.

      Construction of Rotary Vacuum Evaporator:

      Shiva Rotary Film Evaporators are fully self-contained units comprising:

      1. An electrically heated stainless steel heating bath with adjustable height.

      2. A rotating flask made of corrosion-resistant borosilicate glass is connected to the drive by a coupling.

      3. A hollow glass shaft that serves as both the drive and vapor off-take pipe, sealed with a Teflon seal at the condenser/receiver. A motor-driven gear with variable speed control sends power to the shaft.
